Regarding Fingerprint Cards for Out-of-State Requirements (e.g., Police Employment, Background Checks)

Our fingerprinting services are conducted using the official FBI FD-258 fingerprint card format.

If the out-of-state agency requiring your fingerprints mandates a specific, custom fingerprint card (i.e., a format other than the standard FBI FD-258 card), we are unfortunately unable to provide fingerprinting services for that particular card type.

This is because custom cards often have unique requirements and processing protocols determined by the requesting state or agency.

For fingerprinting on custom, non-FD-258 cards, we recommend the following:

Contact the out-of-state agency directly to understand their specific fingerprinting procedures and approved providers.
Alternatively, seek a fingerprinting service located within the jurisdiction (state or specific area) of the agency that requires the custom card.

Furthermore, it is necessary to provide a Florida Originating Agency Identification (ORI) number. Are you applying for a NFA FFL Class 3 , ATF FFL Form 7 , or NFA application that requires FBI background check? (FBI- NICS) ******** If you need to obtain employment or licensing from an out-of-state agency, you will need to use FBI FD-258 Fingerprints Cards. It's important to note that you can only use Live Scan services for licensing and employment purposes in the state where you currently reside, with the exception of FINRA, FBI, ATF, ATF FFL Form 7,and NFA FFL Class 3, or NFA********

When applying for licensing or requesting a background check, it is important to indicate the state/country where you are applying. Please note that fingerprint cards can only be used for the state in which you do not reside. For instance, if you live in Florida or visiting Florida, you must use Livescan service. You cannot send fingerprint cards to Florida agencies as they will be rejected. Which state are you using fingerprint cards for ? if you are applying for mutiple states write multiple states. If you applying for NFA, ATF please write the appropriate agency.

Did the State or Licensing agency or employer provide you with fingerprint cards?

It is common for out-of-state licensing agencies to use vendors to process your cards on their behalf. Do you know if you are sending your fingerprint cards to a vendor such as Identogo?

Most agencies require two fingerprint cards, but please verify with your licensing/employment agency which state the cards are being sent to. You will receive your fingerprint cards on the same day of service!
