Your fingerprint appointment is typically about 15 minutes. Report processing, apostille processing and delivery take additional time.

The clocks do not start together. Apostille processing follows issuance of an acceptable FBI report. Estimates are not guarantees; shipping, weekends, holidays and corrections can add time.

Bring the right identification
Bring valid government-issued photo identification. Under our appointment policy, U.S. citizens must also provide proof of their full Social Security number: a card, clear photo, W-2, 1099 or tax document.
Select the correct applicant category. Requirements for non-citizens and permanent residents must be confirmed for the chosen route.
Check the details before submitting
Use your name exactly as required by your identification and application. Avoid harsh cleaning chemicals before fingerprint collection.
Reschedule online through your confirmation email up to two hours before your appointment.

Is this the same as Florida employment or licensing screening?
No. An FBI Identity History Summary is not a universal substitute for agency-required screening. If your employer or licensing agency supplied an ORI or specific instructions, follow that process. Read the FBI guidance ↗
Who can use an FBI-approved channeler?
U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents may be eligible. Other applicants use a different submission route. The receiving authority’s requirements and purpose must also be checked. FBI channeler policy ↗
Does every overseas application need an apostille?
No. Ask the receiving authority what it requires. The destination and intended use determine whether an apostille, authentication or further legalization is needed. Translation requirements also vary.
Does expedited shipping speed up my FBI report?
No. Report processing, apostille processing and delivery are separate stages. A faster delivery option changes transit service, not the underlying FBI processing.
What if I already have my FBI report?
Select “I already have my report” in the service finder. You will be directed to the existing apostille service page instead of paying for new report processing.
Is translation included?
No. Translation is $75 for one single-page FBI rap sheet. Reports longer than one page require a separate estimate and invoice. Final language and recipient requirements must be confirmed; some Spain applications require a sworn translator.
